Period Rain Gear?

As we are coming into the wet months I was wondering what options there were for keeping the rain off? I am mostly into the Dark age period but I would be interested in options for other periods.
I will sit here and wait for the first person to tell me to harden up & not to worry about a bit of rain.

For clothes try wool rubbed with lanolin

Is that a lady's item of head-gear hanging casually from his chair? And since when did the vikings have 14th Century "long" swords? Viking steel was twisted from multiple strands and then hammered together, right? Also, what about that surcoat? Didn't those garments come back with the guys who went on crusades in the 12oos to the (very hot) holy lands, who needed something to go over their armour? And since when did Vikings wear red crosses?
And look at the colour of that RED CAPE! Chemical dye, anyone?
So, do I get 10 bucks? Huh, huh? Smile

They guys facial hair is real and he appears to be an authentic human male from ten ft, could even be nordic though I doubt it.
