4 into 1 ?????
I was hoping to get info on chain as there is so many different styles
and if you have a chance of getting good priced chain which chain would you like to see in stock
like the armour I bring in 16 gauge / which parts / what year
so you bring in some more roman instead of some sexy Gothic
If people don't ask you don't get .........
we can even.... if you don't mind the wait, get your chain or armour made to your size... still needs fitting when it arrives
there are so many more companies setup to make re enactment items as the sport becomes larger world wide
cas, windlass and deepeeka to name a few are fast becoming over priced toys. where small Indian armories are giving a personal touch for a better price......

And King of Swords did ask;

In style of Maille I think the best would be Full Hauberk (full sleeves and body to knees) in a solid flat/ rivetted flat, 4 in 1 done in 1.6mm mild steel or spring steel (for that extra durability). This gives far better rigidity to the links with sod all chance of moth appearing (maille moth is a tough little beast). The solid/ rivetted pattern is more authentic than the butted or tear tab rivetted that we currently get and should last a lot longer.
While the ZP stuff looks all shiny, aged mild or spring looks better (IMNSHO).
Don't mention the Stainless, it has a different sound, a weird look, ain't period and leads the owner to believe it will require less maintenance.
If ordering suits from India please be aware that most Indians are not as big in the chest and shoulders as the average Kiwi male. This may mean you should look at getting a larger size than you envisioned. The larger size will give you extra length which you may need to add into the sides to make it fit properly. Remember BIG INDIANS are usually taller rather than wider.
With regards the rest of the Armours you import. You should get a set of everybodies rules (NAAMA SCA MLHNZ WMA IJA IJL) and make sure that what you import meets with those rules.
My inflation adjusted, GST @ 12.5% included $1.75 worth.
Frequently taken with a large pinch of salt and a soupcon of indifference.
Cheers

you have earned your 20% discount
I was confused not so much now
We are able to get anything made in India most of the maille sheets we can get made are 4.1 in either
Butted (MS) 9mm 16 gauge
Butted (AL) 9mm 16
Round Ring Round Riveted (MS) 9mm 16
Round Ring Round Riveted (AL) 9mm 16
Flat Ring Wedge Riveted (MS) 9mm 18
Flat Ring Round Riveted (MS) 9mm 18
like a 30cm square piece of maille
Flat Ring Wedge Riveted (MS) 9mm 18 gauge costs a scary $104
where Butted (MS) 9mm 16 gauge cost as little as $20 plus fright a square
It has taken a lot of talking to get them to make to order
I have samples which I shouldn't sell so as to show workmanship ...but someone will fit it and wants to buy it there and then and then there is nothing to show the next guy ...and it takes time to make people don't like paying and then waiting for about six weeks .
Basically ALL ARMOUR AND MAILLE needs to be made to order
the cheapest way is to per buy kit and get someone like justin or paul to bend / hammer and change a rivet or belt here and there so as to fit you
now cost is close to half getting made off shore
the last lot of armour i brought in was great for a little guy say 5 10 but big mac reakons the armour was made for a girl
and you've seen how much chain maille he walks around with I could make a whole Hauberk for myself out of it including gloves and legs
In the next few days I will sort out cost for chainmail components sold by the weight

so flat maybe wedge is the real shit
but to buy a
Hauberk ( Sleeves 20", Knee Length)
54inch chest $1,200 " without club discount "
mild steel 9mm 18 gauge
• Flat Ring Wedge Riveted ?
cheaper
• Flat Ring Round Riveted still a cost of a small cheap car
Its' hard to keep it real when butted is the cheapest
• Butted Mild Steel same size $290 / 300 without discount
you can see why people are buying mild steel
The following varieties of maille
* Butted
* Round Ring Round Riveted
* Flat Ring Round Riveted
Following metals/alloys are being used to manufacture our items in various varieties

Maille Moth is a pest closely associated with mild butted maille.
It is a result of having one ring opened by a sword, spear or over extension and not repairing it immediately. The weight of the rest of the suit will exascerbate the situation and like your favourite woolly jumper the holes will expand.
Butted Spring is less susceptable to this pest as the increased carbon content of the rings is less palatable to the wee beasty.
Here endeth the lesson
Cheers

Remember:
flat ring, wedge rivet equals European style (typically)
flat ring, round rivet equals Asian style (typically)
