Alex Dugmore made a Greek Classical-period linothorax a few years ago. Can't find any pictures sadly.

I made some sections, pteryges out of linen layers, sixteen layers all glued together. They were virtually rock-hard, easily as hard as waxed or boiled leather, but not as thick.
