haveing loved falchions for ages i was looking at some for sale and wanted to get the best
but they all have the blade on the long edge but the historical {had a paste pic but lost it] one in museum ,apperently there are only a few spite its popularity ,has its edge on the short side can any one find a manufacturer that makes them this way
ive looked at some medieval pictures and this seems to be the case for at least half of falchions/choppers depicted |

As far as I am aware, they were primarily made with the blade on the long edge, as opposed to the much earlier falcata and kopis which had the blade on the short edge.
The only true Falchions with the blade on the short edge I have seen are from the Maciejowski bible. Two reproductions of them are made by Del Tin Armi Antiche, www.deltin.net |
