hey Tank you are the one with the question ......
The Helm is cool as .....it goes with the rest of your kit

You enjoy what you do and thats even better

You could have heaps of fun with different face plates

The sallet or salade was a popular and elegant headpiece in use across much of Europe throughout the second half of the 15th century. Various forms developed during this time, all fitting closely to the front and sides of the head. Sallets made in the Italian style, like our bellows face sallet, generally had short, rounded tails that fitted closely to the back of the neck. The extended bellows style visor on this example is a later development that is based on a transitional piece (between the sallet and the Maximilian-style close-helm of the 16th century) that is dated to around 1490

Hi Tank,

I'm not an expert in the field but to me it resembles a cerveliere which is the forerunner of the bascinet, which would put it in the late 13th/early 14th century (based on various sources I've seen).
Apparently it's a step on from the basic metal skull cap and then when the back got lengthened it evolved into the bascinet (allegedly).

Visor wise not seen anything much, apart from a truly awful American football style one on a site selling SCA & LARP gear. Nuff said!

I wouldn't know where to place it other than somewhere between Middle Earth and Bloodbowl...other than that I think it looks mean.
