Thank you for your suggestions re Apicius. I have a couple of books with receipes attributed to him. Some of them are very tasty!
I'm also looking for 'In a Caliphs Kitchen' by David Waines. It seems it's out of print & ABE Books (internet second hand sellers) don't have a copy
amongst their contributing sellers.
Looking for Cindy Renfrows 'Take a Thousand Eggs or More', to have a look at but I'm more interested in an earlier period.
Also found reference to Sabrina Welserin? More mid/ northern European cuisine/ influences, so it seems, but might be worth a look.
There is also what looks like a fairly interesting book called 'An Early XIII Century Northern European Cookbook' by Rudolf Grewe which has apparently been reprinted/ updated by Culinary Historians of Boston..... but I can't find that either. Might be worth a look, even if it's a bit late.
Thanks for your help Ginny |

I recommend searching on https://www.alibris.com/
It links to a lot of second hand book stores and the like. You can often find things through them that are not available new through Amazon and the normal bookstores. _________________ Phil Berghan-Whyman
