For anyone interested this site has images of casket tops from 1170 to 1407. It shows a good progression in the style of armour and the progreeion from maille to plate.

Nice one

you can even track the different hangers and helmets over the years.

Check out Almaric St Amand in 1340 - he appears to wearing a kettle helm over a secret.

plus there are the two different visored bacinet in 1340 as well

and you can see the helmet liner of the great helm under Thomas de Braose, head in 1395
