Most specialty timber merchants have white ash.
The one in wellington is Eastbourne Timbers in seaview. A large stack of it but only to 3.5m in length.
for 5m you will need to ask them.

Are you looking for it for tent poles?
I'm looking for big tent pole wood as well, I'm getting quartersawn ash from City Timber in Wellington that'll be perfect for spokes, but I haven't found any thick enough for the upright poles yet.
What diameters do you need? _________________ Al Muckart. Shoe geek.

Try Rosenfeld and Kidson, just off Mt Wellington Hwy. I used to get all my Ash and Oak from them . If you go in you are able to hand select what you want they will also cut etc.

And hopies did misspell (I prolly did too):-
Quote: | you can get round aussie ash from Pelco in Parmy. |
Pelco do a wide range of Aussie Ash.
http://www.pelco.co.nz/
At this time Pelco has in stock: 4x2, 3x1&1/2, 3x1, 6x1, 4x1&1/2.
Plus common rounds in the 1-1&3/4 size.
4x2 is $7.50/ lineal metre +GST.
Some times they even have Bilau which is really hard but questionable as to whether it floats.
His next order is being made in about 3 weeks for arrival in 6-8 weeks.
Can order any size you want. So if you want 10 sticks of 6x2 Ash @ 5m each, he can get them but his current guess at price depends on his costs.
Hope this helps.
cheers

I mostly need planks about 180mm x 30mm _________________ A book may be able to teach you something of fighting, but it can't cover your back when the shield wall breaks up! |

Rosenfeld and Kidson is then your best source. They have rack after rack of Ash planks, you just have to hunt through what is there to find the longest ones I have regularly seen 6m+ available.
