One thing I alway forget to take to camps, and find that I always need, is teatowels. You can never have enough of them.
And stuff to do dishes with.

one of those dish wand thingys are good (the ones that can have the dish soap in the handle)

Actually those bath loofahs that you can get are really good. They are rough enough to take the food off, but not so rough as to strip the non-stick layer off your cast ironware - and certainly more period-looking. Not sure how period they are though, have to investigate that...

probably a reasonable fake for the period 'handfull of rush stalks' (or straw?).
