Hi all
Just been reading this thread.There is some interesting info about making arrows out of Japanese arrow bamboo at this site

There are clumps of this bamboo around the place.If anyone is interested

Hi Gregor,
Thanks for that, that's a great site. You'll find stuff on Youtube from the same crowd, making atlatls and stuff. I do like wooden bows, that is when they're not exploding and hitting me on the head!
BTW, are you familiar with the Mt.Tiger archery club in Whangerei? There's a guy there name of Rob Ward who makes laminated and self bows. Does very nice work.
