Quote “that on Chinese Islands like Taiwan"
Don’t tell the Taiwanese that it a Chinese island

Had a friend that chop of half his little finger with a band saw at work, it wasn’t worth reattaching so he took it home and left out side somewhere for a week or so then gave it a boil and turned the very tip bone of said finger into a cool pendant.
Saying that it was his own bone not some random.
Some Maori tribes used human bone (more than likely their enemies) in some of there weapons, it that whole capture the guys spirit makes you stronger thing.
Rob what’s that little bone called, and before you get all rude, I am meaning the tip of your little finger bone?

Ps
Thorsson will do it.

A phalange, as far I know. (And I don't mean a Macedonian Phalange from down among the Foot Companions, the battlefield Pike Squad - I always thought that, given how much Bronze they seem to wear, they should be called Hopheavy, rather than being called Greek hoplite). Rolling Eyes

I think Beijing regard Taiwan island as Chinese. But then they claim Tibet is a Chinese Province also.

Yup, they do. Small matter recently of the seppo's having to put an entire Fleet out on "manoeuvres" to dissuade them from a hostile take over again :p

I might be wrong but I have the impression that on Chinese Islands like Taiwan (and certainly Hong Kong) unless you are very rich, no one has the rights to a Grave sitein perpituity or for much or any longer than about 5 years or so.

Then the crypt is recycled. Some dodgy cemetary attendant swings by to sweap your bones out on the ground so they can be replaced by someone else.

I seem to recall that the Carnal houses and Cemetaries in New Orleans (and indeed in Paris) are not dissimilar.

The Catacombs of Rome (run by Christians) were also prone to being swept out periodically of osseus debris to make new space for the freshly dead.

Well that's an excellent point, and puts it nicely in context. Thanks Rob. It all starts making a bit more sense now.

I remember from the late 1970s when I was at an (osteopathic) School of Manual Therapy in Paris the Facility had a Huge repositary of random human skeletal remains in the Attic. It was mind boggling.

School of Archaeology has a similar collection. As 99% of that collection is indigenous, we had to take great care and show immense respect when browsing. Damn fine resource though.

Surgeon's Hall in Edinburgh has, by far, the most mind-boggling collection, and just for the joy of it, here's a link to their gallery.

Ethics and morals are entirely dependant on culture and era. Less than a hundred years go it was socially acceptable to beat your wife for being uppity...g'uck with that now. Human hair wigs cut from the poor women in the asylums was the norm, etc...But I can see your reasoning.

As can I see yours. Please don't stop debating me for all that though, it's been most interesting.

If I die (and that might be quite soonish) I think that having part of my spirit coopted be in the Soul of a sword would be quite Cool. (even if it was a Norse sword!)

If you are going to have sax then Long sax has to be the best type of sax to have. The rest is for bunny rabbits!

A short, sharp shock sax? You mean a "quickie" sax? A sax best enjoyed on the street or in a dodgy bus shelter?

Some hot little sax! Sadly I guess the boring classical Roman gladius will never have the same cachet in the shortness stakes.

What did you think we were talking about?
