|
The range weekend for siege engines at Gladstone Range in the Wairarapa has been set for May 19th - 20th and the program has been outlined with the Wairarapa Pistol and Sports Shooting club who have generously offered the use of their range.
Anyone who would like to participate should contact me as soon as possible.
There is a camp area, water, firewood (open fires allowed) no vendors or generators and a small castle to destroy. Transport may available to help move your engine if needed. So far we have two coming from Auckland and three already here with a fourth planned for construction.
Be in for some good honest clean violent destruction.

Does anyone have any good photos from the WMD weekend that they could post here? I missed it unfortunately, but would love to see pictures.
Cheers,
Nigel

I'm still waiting for the guy who did the filming to actually do something with the footage or get me some stills. In the meantime I've asked a friend of mine to who took some pictures to send me some copies.
Frankly given Darrens recent comments I'm wondering why I went to the trouble and personal expense of running the weekend.

And then Murray said

Because we all have to start somewhere Murray.
Like me you will learn two simple event rules
1) Never trot out more than you have or can guarantee (been there done that, looked like a muppet) (Still do at times)
2) Wherever possible keep your hands out of your own pockets to pay for stuff. A good event should clear enough profit for a dinner at McD's for yourself at least.
Ya gotta admit the castle wasn't what it was billed as being. But then, castles and forts are like that.

Hi Nigel
I wasn't able to make it either (damn lurgies), but my friend Phil went as a spectator and took some photos - I can send them to you (and anyone else, if they want them) - though you'll need to email me in the next 15 hours or so for I am leaving my laptop at home for my overseas adventures. Warning: I haven't resized them, so they're huuuge. Not recommended if you have dial up!

Don't let any of the Norse Royalist use Marshmellows for viking trebuchet ammunition! You won't know where they've been!

Royalists...
ah well then... the train bands and discipline if the NMA (Norscan Midi Army) will see to any artillery the royalists can gather.
I think they're called the FCC. (Fran'ush Confectionary Cavaliers)

No it's CAMP: Confectionary Alliance Monarchist Preferance.
Isn't it disturbing that the fondest and most affectionate memory of Armidale, after almost a decade, for Niall, is Greek Wrestling with Snorri.?And he accepted Roman coins! Isn't there a name for that?

Yeah the word is Njarl. Which is a good as any word. My limbs are way too long to consider any form of wrestling so good on him for ... there wasn't any olive oil involved was there?
Jason took his(?) Holepunch back so my shoes have stalled.
Watched Spartacus the other night with the rolling fire logs and the two guys running. Mention of fire wheels in use by vikings to try and break a seige somewhere if I remember rightly.
Then Watched this Koeran movie called "Brotherhood of War". Holy phuk, what a shytfight! Good movie done like a propaganda number but with no punches pulled when it came to the business end.
