im having a hard time picking out a helmet for the 1150-1350 peroid any advice would be welcome

Spangenhelm would be the safest as it spans most of this time period, with the kettlehelm (chapel-de-fer) would be good for the later part of this period.
Remember that you are asking about a 200 year span, choosing between a MKIV Mother Tank and an Abrams would be closer timewise.
What exactly are you aiming for?

Depends on what look you are going for as well, I like alot of different periods of history so would like alot of different kits! I always liked the kettle helm, and when I aquired one [based on the Maceijowsky Bible] I have sort to taylor my kit to it, based 1250's, in the MB's pictures theres one of Golieth and David, I'll prob end up looking simular to Golieth, thats if I don't don tights and a cod peice for a longswordsman look of the early 1400's!

i havent exactly got much of an idea on what kind of helm i want just yet id kind of like to get a better idea of what kind of helmets were used
