There is a South African shop in Albany that sells very medieval cauldrons with three legs made from cast iron. _________________ A book may be able to teach you something of fighting, but it can't cover your back when the shield wall breaks up! |

I got James the traveling Blacksmith to make two tripods for me that work really well. They also come apart so I can use the components to make a double A-frame with horizontal bar to hang more than one cauldron off it. The horizontal was made out off thicker steel to take the weight. _________________ Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a man does with what happens to him.

those three legged iron pots which you so gaily call "cauldrons" are in actual fact ...potjie pots.. being a south african does have its perks... i have 3 such pots. 2 large ones and a 3 person one.....i wish i could cook three people in it sometimes it would help in the potjie contests!
oh by the way. before anyof you go to the shop and make plonkers of yourselves by saying potjie.... its pronounced poik-eee. _________________ lament not where you failed to achieve but where you failed to seize opportunity |
