Can anyone think of or give me examples of something you would decorate with feathers? Bag, clothing etc. I have found the most beautiful blue peacock feathers and I want an excuse for buying them other than "but they were so pretty" don't think Grayson will fall for that one.....

The hat idea is good, I'm thinking of something I saw in the Tre Riche Heurs, April and May http://humanities.uchicago.edu/images/heures/april.jpg

Also this hat from Codex Manessus fol 32. Not sure it is appropriate for a woman, but it definitely has peacock feathers.
I believe that Elizabethans didn't wear peacock feathers as there was an association with the 'evil eye'.
If that helps at all, all the research I could do in 5 min, but I'm happy to help with more.
Smiles
Anne

Sorry missed that one, I haven't had a time period up until now but it is going to be 1410ish Poland which from what I can understand they normally followed German then Italian fashions, I just need to find more examples.
Thanks for that Effigy, the feathers I were after were little bright blue body feathers, not the eye ones but thats even better!!

Thank you Ann for posting that picture above, my era is Poland and I just found a polish book (which unfortunately I can't read) that is fantastic and it has that very picture in it. I now have a legitimate excuse for buying bright fantastic feathers!!!

Carl, as much as I like your idea, I can't eat fish so I don't think I'll try to catch any
